Contemporary artists committed to the environment unite for COP30
Alongside Art of Change 21 and Labverde, online and in Belém
For the first time, contemporary artists engaged with environmental issues have joined forces internationally through United Artists for Climate, a global campaign initiated by Art of Change 21 (France) and Labverde (Brazil), two pioneering organizations bridging contemporary art and ecology.
Their ambition: to amplify artists’ voices, raise public awareness, and call for concrete commitments at COP30. Alice Audouin and Lilian Fraiji, the two founders of these organizations, have also played an active role on site at COP30 through numerous interventions and by contributing to advocacy efforts for the recognition of culture in climate action. Eight Brazilian and Indigenous artists have also taken part, supported by the two organizations.
Culture: a new force for transition and adaptation
Ten years after the Paris Agreement, COP30 will open in Belém, in the heart of the Amazon, at a time when the +1.5°C limit has already been exceeded. This historic edition will mark the official entry of culture into the COP agenda, recognizing its role as a powerful driver of transformation. This progress builds on the momentum initiated at COP28 by the Group of Friends for Culture-Based Climate Action and the Barcelona Declaration adopted at Mondiacult 2025.
Artists with environmentally-conscious practices are growing in number — through the themes of their works (climate change, biodiversity loss, plastic pollution…), their production methods (recycling, biomaterials, low-carbon transport, local sourcing…), or through collaborations with NGOs and conservation initiatives.

A global mobilization during COP30
For over a decade, Labverde and Art of Change 21 have been uniting hundreds of artists committed to the environment.
With United Artists for Climate, they mobilize the global art community from November 10 to 21, 2025.
This global mobilisation takes two forms:
– Online
International artists will highlight their connection to the environment across their social media platforms (on Instagram) through videos, artworks, and testimonials — raising public awareness and calling for commitments that meet the scale of the climate and environmental emergency.
Follow the campaign on Instagram
– In Belém
Simultaneously, eight Brazilian artists (including Christian Braga and Margem do Rio) will carry out artistic interventions and performances.
The founders of Art of Change 21 and Labverde, Alice Audouin and Lilian Fraiji, will contribute to the recognition of culture as the heart of climate action along with We Make Tomorrow, the Climate Heritage Network, the Entertainment + Culture Pavilion and will participate in key events in the UNFCCC COP30 Blue Zone, including Culture Day opening on November 12.
United Artists for Climate campaign is part of We Make Tomorrow global campaign. Art of Change 21 is a Founding Partner of We Make Tomorrow.

Culture is now on the official COP30 agenda – a true victory for Art of Change 21, which has been present at every Climate COP since 2015! With United Artists for Climate, we are, for the first time, mobilizing artists for climate action on an unprecedented scale, in partnership with Brazil’s most emblematic actor in the field, Labverde.
— Alice Audouin, Founder and President of Art of Change 21

Art and culture have the power to raise awareness on the climate crisis by speaking to both the heart and the mind. From the Amazon, Labverde is proud to join forces with Art of Change 21 in the major alliance United Artists for Climate, which will plant new imaginaries and help grow a new socio-environmental consciousness.
— Lilian Fraiji, Founder and Director of Labverde
