Project Description

planète art solidaire is a new campaign from the Art of Change 21 association, sponsored by Maison Ruinart, which aims to financially help environmentally minded young artists through the current health crisis. A sum of 42,000€ will be split and awarded to 21 laureates in June (making that 2,000€ each), selected by a prestigious jury.

In 2021, more than a year after the start of the pandemic, many artists are struggling, especially younger artists. The Art of Change 21 association, specializing in the link between contemporary art and the environment, fully understands the negative impact the pandemic is having on the projects and careers of artists working on the theme of the environment. Committed to aiding aspiring and emerging talent since 2014, the association has been keen to respond to the current health crisis by giving the younger generation a helping hand. planète art solidaire has been made possible thanks to the patronage of Maison Ruinart.

Together, we are looking to assist young artists who integrate the environment and its issues into their work, and who help us to better understand our relationship with living things (and therefore, the current pandemic), and who foreshadow a more ecological future. Their conscience, their commitment, as well as their inventiveness and their holistic vision, must be maintained and mobilized, at a time when the virus is spreading across the globe.

The winners are chosen by a jury, as part of a call for entries.

planète art solidaire is aimed at all contemporary artists (visual artists) over the age of 18 and under 40; entrants must be living in France and not in full or part-time education, and crucially, the environment has to be an important theme in the work of the artist.

The criteria for selection are threefold: the quality of their artistic approach, the prominence of the environment in their work, and their financial situation in 2020.

The application form is a quick and simple questionnaire (it is not a call for projects).

Applications are open until midnight May 31st.
