Milan will host next month the XXII edition of the “Triennale de Design” on the theme: “Broken Nature: Design Takes on Human Survival”. Behind the optimism of a resilient design capable of repairing environmental damage, is projected a tragic dimension, making the assumption of extinction of species, including human. The curator Paola Antonelli brings in this scenario of collapse an aesthetic ambition: being able to leave, thanks to the design, a worthy trace of our passage on earth. A testamentary approach that reveals the irresistible appeal of anthropocentrism. A month later will open in Florence Ferragamo Museum “Sustainable Thinking”, an exhibition to be unveiled on April 12 and which will pay tribute to his innovative spirit and designs, while underscoring the brand’s more recent experiments with environmentally friendly materials, such as orange fiber. Debates and workshops will punctuate this exhibition for one year.
