This 6th edition of the Lubumbashi Biennial in the Democratic Republic of Congo, now drawing to a close, demonstrates its commitment to a changing and responsible world without walls. With Future genealogies, stories from the equator, the Biennial investigates both the colonial narratives and migration flows as well as the environmental issues of his country, taken between the two hemispheres, in order to reshape the identity cards and the history,  and to produce these famous “genealogies of the future” that jostle the dichotomies between “local” For this important issue, committed artists who have responded to the appel include as Athar Jaber, Hadassa Ngalba, and Maarten Vanden Eynde, who presented a series of 10 paintings (Material Matters) made in the Congo together with the Lushoi artist Musasa.
