Une pierre sous la langue
Solo exhibition by Abdessamad El Montassir

The exhibition’s title refers to a Sahrawi poem that symbolizes the process of remembering and forgetting. This exhibition explores the landscapes, political history, dramas and traumas, as well as the memories of the inhabitants of the southern Moroccan Sahara, the artist’s birthplace. On display are pieces from the Frac collection as well as new works created during the artist’s residency at the Villa Medici.

This exhibition is distinguished, at the entrance, by a cavity where Naomie Maury’s fluorescent halos engage in a dialogue with Damien Fragnon’s rocky ceramics. From the worlds of Charlie Jouan to Clément Davout’s nocturnal paintings, from Jean-François Krebs’s blown glass sculptures to Felipe Vasquez’s living installation, which invites us to a return to the wild, the aim is to open a space for dialogue between natural elements and our sensitive bodies, through artistic practices that engage the senses.

Initium Maris
Solo exhibition by Nicolas Floc’h

Entirely dedicated to the Breton coastline, Initium Maris (2018-2021) is an artistic expedition led by the artist aboard the ketch OAO, covering 65 sites from Saint-Nazaire to Saint-Malo. These images compose a unique collection of panoramic views of underwater landscapes at a given moment, in a context marked by climate change.

Solo exhibition by Duke Riley

The ocean, once a symbol of adventure and freedom, is now an overexploited and polluted space. Duke Riley creates a modern and activist mythology blending maritime legends, sailors’ tattoos, mistreated mermaids, and a degraded environment. The artist, a tattoo artist by training, uses a variety of surfaces (bottles, flasks, cassettes) for his creations and mosaics.

Alluvions
Solo exhibition by Clémence Vazard

Clémence Vazard presents her new series of works that collect water samples from around the world to create a map of colors and emotions. Kaaron Studio, for its part, complements this exhibition with innovative installations that engage in a dialogue with Vazard’s works, creating a space for reflection on our relationship with the natural environment.

Lupina
Solo exhibition by Guillaume Greff

Guillaume Greff’s exhibition “Lupina” explores human traces through the invasive Alaskan lupin plant. It documents the transformations of landscapes under the influence of human activity, blending scientific rigor with a sensitive perspective. This photographic project originated during an artist residency in Finland in 2015 and was further developed during travels to Iceland, Greenland, Scandinavia, Finland, and the United States.

Huit propositions de paysages

Eight sculptures by the artist are presented, most of them created specifically for this exhibition. Yuhsin U Chang explores in his work the moment when gesture interacts with matter, sometimes in struggle, sometimes in submission. D’une branche sur laquelle j’avais grimpé
Solo exhibition by Jonathan Bréchignac

Jonathan Bréchignac presents at the New Franco-Chinese Institute a work begun during his spring residency at the Beijing Arts Center – Yishu 8. He worked with pollen in Beijing to explore the inherent intelligence that governs the transformations of living things. He was able to obtain (on the Taobao website) significant quantities of bright yellow pine pollen, which he uses as a pigment.
