Backed since 2018 by Lisbon’s Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology, the project Eco-Visionaries: Art and Architecture after the Anthropocene continues its journey from Portugal to Sweden, Switzerland, Spain and finally England through collaboration with the Royal Academy of Arts. From 23 November 2019 to 23 February 2020, the London-based institution will host this travelling exhibition that brings together artists and architects committed to environmental issues. It includes longstanding names like The Harrisson Studio, prominent spokespeople like Olafur Eliasson, and much research and experimentation with Diller Scofidio + Renfro, HeHe, John Gerrard, Rimini Protokoll, Superflex, Philippe Rham…. In the light of uproar this summer 2019 over global warming, contemporary creation offers a strong response and adopts a cross-disciplinary approach to set an example of a civic commitment. Eco-Visionaries paves the way to a new format – that of a manifesto-exhibition.
